Buenos Dias/Hello! Welcome to Isaac Newton!
Spanish is one of the many electives offered to all 6-8th graders. 6th graders may elect to take 1 semester of Exploratory Spanish. For 7th and 8th graders, Spanish will be a year long elective. This is a two-year program to prepare for High School Spanish.
Students must complete the 7th grade Spanish course successfully in order to continue in 8th grade.
Suggestions for studying languages...Always review vocabulary and concepts from class for at least 15-20 minutes a day. For vocabulary words, repetition is essential. Making vocabulary cards, writing words 5-10 times each will help recalling new words. Practice is so important to your success in the language.
For 7th and 8th grade Spanish students, take advantage of the online access to the Realidades textbook. Go to
http://www.phschool.com/webcodes10/index.cfm?area=view&wcprefix=jck&wcsuffix=0001 and find the chapter you want to review.
I encourage students to come in for tutoring after school. My hope is that all students will have a successful and rewarding language experience. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Merci and Gracias. Madame/Senora Gail Cox
